  • Q: "How does Elements' plans differ from the new Defined Contribution Plans?"

A: Defined contribution plans (DCP) support the healthy but do not provide long-term support for those with more extensive medical needs. It looks good up front but you will find that within a year the DCP's will become very costly. Furthermore, DCP's do not support or empower your employees with interactive programs to manage their health and their costs.

Q: "How long has Elements been around?"

A: Elements has been in the healthcare industry since 1985. We started out as a brokerage firm but became frustrated with the industry and created our own integrated health plans in 1999.

Q: "I can barely afford to offer medical benefits, adding a wellness program seems too expensive."

A: Long-term studies and our own experience with clients have proven that the only way to contain expenses is to integrate interactive Employee Health Management Programs with one of health insurance programs we can show you.

Many of the Fortune 50 companies have taken this approach. Up until now you could not do it on your own. However, we have taken the best of these programs and made them available to small to medium-size companies.

Q: "Is Elements an insurance brokerage firm?"

A: Yes, Elements provides its clients with the services they require of a traditional insurance brokerage firm.

However, we have gone far beyond traditional brokers by providing extensive consulting services. Health insurance brokers are not trained in the areas of wellness and healthcare. Elements has put health back into healthcare.

Q: "So, Elements is also a worksite wellness company?"

A: Yes, we are both a health promotion and employee benefits company.

We design innovative solutions that center on bringing the plan participants into a benefits environment fully integrated with wellness services. In this model, in addition to providing a quality benefits plan, we can identify potential risks and supply the expertise necessary to most effectively manage future claims.

Q: "We already have a broker. How are you different?"

A: We can only assume your broker is excellent, otherwise you wouldn't be working with them.

Elements is comprised of many professionals, some who have acted in the capacity as benefits insurance brokers for many years and held executive positions in national brokerage firms. In considering the healthcare crisis, we have come to believe that brokers are not providing the solutions to their clients they require, and we say that with no disrespect intended.

Brokers usually report claims and costs to a client each year. They also present the renewal plus whatever other alternatives are available. What makes Elements different is that while we provide the continuity of traditional brokerage services, we do so within the Elements model. That model is designed to help our clients actually take control over their claims, which is the determining factor in the rate increases they experience each year.

Q: "We just signed a renewal contract with our current provider so we aren't interested but we might be next year when our contract comes up for renewal again."

A: We appreciate your willingness to consider us next year. However, it doesn't cost you anything to switch carriers prior to renewal.

Q: "Well, sounds interesting, but we aren't up for a renewal now. Can you call me a few months before then and we can talk?"

A: One of the great features of the Elements is we do not preclude you from using your existing benefit plan as the insurance component. A meeting will allow us to thoroughly introduce our services and to demonstrate what we have identified as a viable solution to managing your healthcare benefit costs.
